*This post contains affiliate links. How cute are these kiddos? Daren’s sister and brother-in-law came to visit with this week, with their kids. It was chaos, but the good kind! As far as we are concerned family is everything! Another thing that is everything in my book is Alice & Ames! My favorite dress shop for littles re-released their fall collection Thursday. I set an alarm and had all my selections in my cart 4 minutes after the release, and still didn’t get my favorite dress before it sold out! Don’t cry for me! I still managed to snag two rompers and two dresses! There are still lots of dresses available in size 6 – 8, and rompers in a range of sizes. Alice & Ames will… Read More

The Secret Sisterhood of Miscarriage for Scary Mommy

I never planned to publicly share this story. Yet in the middle of the night I found the word pouring out onto my computer screen. Then the next day I found myself pushing send to Scary Mommy. To be honest, even then, I didn’t think it would ever be published. This is by far the most personal piece I have ever written. There is a reason I mostly write about home design. Decorating with kids can be a challenge, so this month I shared my best tips with Design & Living Magazine. Spoiler – My biggest secret is closed door storage. You can read the full article here.     In other news. I swapped out a piece of abstract art from Home Goods with a unique Clare Elsaesser… Read More

The Best of Target’s Fall Collection

* This post contains affiliate links. Target does it again! I’m no stranger to the home and kitchen aisles at Target and have always been a fan of their products, but this Fall they really, really nailed it. It’s the stuff of cozy, midcentury dreams. It’s hard to believe that a store where I buy my garbage bags and plastic storage bins, is also one of my go-to for affordable home decor. The warehouse style store even produced a Fall catalog that envy’s Domino magazine in style (IMHO). It’s chalk full of pin worthy editorial! Given our family’s style leans towards earthy and neutral, Fall is my favorite time of the year to shop for home decor. Fur, cozy patterns and wood… Read More
