Sometimes all you need is a weekend to completely turn things around in a small space. Though new decor and a little bit of white paint don’t hurt either. This was the case in the entry at our Modern Coastal Project in Fort Myers, FL.
This project is pretty personal! Our new junior designer, David, who happens to be my brother, is running the show. This is also his home, and our extended family’s vacation home.
While the home is only a few years old, the entry lacked character. “It felt like a pass through rather than a moment,” said David. Over the course of a few days, glossy white floor to ceiling board and batten replaced the formerly beige walls. The wall detail was intentionally kept streamlined and delicate for a modern look. New 3.5″ trim was used on all three on the entry’s wall, while the existing crown and baseboards were repurposed into the final look. The walls were finished off with Sherwin Williams Extra White for a bright, inviting look that created a beautiful backdrop for coastal styling.

How We Styled the Entry for A Coastal Look
An affordable woven light fixture and coastal-inspired console table anchor the final look. The woven detail on the entry console’s drawer fronts echo the weave of the lighting, while ottomans soften and ground the coastal entry. The table lamp and mirror are no longer available, but you can shop similar items and the rest of the look below! Then visit our shop for all our favorite products.
