We do a lot of before and afters around here, but there is a lot that happens behind the scenes in between.
It usually goes something like this: We plan the project. We begin implementing the plan. Then we make a big mess and afterwards we clean. We typically make a few mistakes along the way. We problem solve said mistakes. Then we clean again. Now we play around with the finishing touches, and then, you guessed it, we clean. Before the big reveal always comes the cleanup. Heavy duty messes, require heavy duty cleanup. Goo Gone is my go-to brand to help clean-up after the dust settles. You can purchase Goo Gone products at all major retailers and online on Amazon.
Our master closet is currently in the in-between. (Side note: I completely underestimate the length of this project!) I won’t pretend to be a cleaning expert, but after so much time spent cleaning up, I was bound to pick up a few secret weapons along the way. Here are the five Goo Gone products I’m using to get our master closet prepped & ready for it’s big reveal:
Goo Gone Goo & Adhesive Remover Aerosol
America’s #1 formula for removing gummy, sticky, gooey messes. This formula safely removes messes and allows for a more precise spray to the areas where you are trying to remove goo. The removeable scraping tool cap came in handy, when I removed the construction glue stuck to our mirror.
Goo Gone Heavy Duty Wipes
These wipes are a personal favorite, as they can quickly tackle even the toughest messes without tearing. They’re great for grease, grime, scuff marks, adhesive residue, permanent marker and more. Read about how I recently used them to clean up paint over-spray in my son’s bedroom here.
Goo Gone Hand Cleaner
Nail holes. Got to fill them, but it always makes a mess. I’m notorious for getting my hands really dirty when spackling and it can be really hard to get that gunk off. Goo Gone Hand Cleaner is a heavy duty, water-based formula containing fine pumice plus Aloe Vera & Vitamin E to moisturize hands while cleaning away the toughest grime. No water needed! Daren is a big fan of this product too.
Goo Gone Latex Cleaner
Every paint project there is an oopsie moment. Which is usually exasperated by the fact we are pretty lax in our paint prep. AKA, we don’t usually paint with a drop cloth. I’ll be keeping this on hand while we prime and paint the closet. Latex Paint Clean makes it easy to clean spills, splatter, brushes, and more. It even works on dry paint!
Goo Gone All Purpose Cleaner
A tried-and-true all purpose cleaner. You can remove messes from almost any surface with this fast-acting formula. I used it to remove grease & grime from our new full length mirror after it was installed.
