The September Five - Favorite Apple Pie Recipe

The Five
The apple pie recipe I can’t quit, an affordable jean jacket I can’t stop wearing, a cozy blanket, my new favorite lamp, and a new spin on fall florals.

Welcome to “The Five,” a new monthly feature where I highlight five things that captured my attention or ended up in my shopping cart that month.

September is my favorite month of the entire year. The weather is perfect, the layered clothes are sophisticated, and don’t even get me started on nature’s color palette. My love of dusty colors and warm tones meets it’s match when fall decor hits the shelf. In shorter terms, September and I are soul mates, and fall is my season. Sign me up for everything warm, cozy, but not yet freezing.

Which brings me to my mission to perfect apple pie while the weather is on the crisp side. I started with my tried and true favorite cookbook for easy baked goods, Magnolia Table by Joanna Gaines. While Jo’s biscuits and lemon pie have made our regular baked good’s lineup, Dulche de Leche Apple Pie was somehow overlooked until recently. When I read that dulche de leche, a caramelized sweetened milk, was included, I knew it was the apple pie recipe to start my journey. After all, my love of a caramel is right top there with my love of fall and coffee. While I’ve started to play with creating my own recipe, this is a great recipe if you are looking for a caramel-y spin on a fall’s most classic pie.

Apple pie wasn’t the only thing that captured my attention this month. When curating The PD Collection a generously sized plaid-patterned throw caught my eye. I instantly knew I had to include it in our blanket selection. But then I stumbled upon a modern beauty of a lamp, with a brass body and belgian linen shade, and it never left my mind. The table lamp unsurprising has a starring role in our collection. It will be making its way to my own home soon.

Rounding out the best of September, is the affordable jean jacket I throw on day after day. Plus a new spin on fall florals. Psst… Dried flowers are having a major moment this fall. Shop my picks below!
