Hello! Welcome to Pretty Domesticated. A brand new lifestyle website by yours truly, Katie Sullivan.
You might want to sit down. I have a lot to cover and you have a lot to explore. When I set out to create a new website, I thought long and hard about what would serve you, my community, best. I thought about the content you respond to and the questions you ask. “Where did you get that?” for instance. Then I acted. This business journey has been about you.
It’s also been about me. I felt the urge to create a platform that I owned, so I could take control of my business and my life. I love Instagram, but it doesn’t always love me. This is a place where we can come together day after day, and not have to worry about an algorithm. PD is now a blog, shop and all around resource for pretty things. There’s still a huge focus on design. We’ll address your design and decor questions, help you source things to shop, and touch on design tips and tricks. We’re also expanding into a broader lifestyle category where we’ll be talking about entertaining, recipes and beauty too.
I can offer you more here. This site is my answer to “work smarter, not harder.” You can easily shop my home, find exclusive content, stay connected and find products hand picked by me in one designated spot. You should be able to find the answers to your questions quickly. If you can’t, let me know. I’m still happy to help.
You’ll also have the opportunity to comment on posts and ask questions that pop up. You can even start now! Please comment below on anything you want me to cover.
Things are changing at Pretty Domesticated, but they’re changing for the better. I promise. I’ll still be your design-loving friend sharing on Instagram, but instead of disappearing into the social media abyss, all that information will have a permanent home. This is my transition from reluctant influencer to home lifestyle brand. I hope you’ll support me.
This website did not happen overnight. It’s been a labor of love, and came with a lot of help from a very talented website team. Countless hours of work have finally brought us to Launch Day! There were moments I truly thought this day would never come.
I hope you find yourself coming back time and time again for inspiration. I hope you learn something, and maybe you can teach me a little something too.
