Homemade Popsicles vs Commercial Popsicles
It’s probably pretty obvious that these homemade popsicles are healthier than commercial pops. Not to mention, our peach popsicle recipe is completely dairy free!
The popsicles you pick up on your grocery store run, are usually made of mostly water and sugar, along with food coloring and artificial flavors. In contrast, our popsicles are made from pureed peaches, have a nice texture to them and are stuffed full of nutritional value. To top it off, they really do taste like biting into a fresh juicy piece of fruit with the added benefit of simutaneously cooling you off. Who doesn’t love biting into a cool popsicle on a hot summer day?
All you need is 3 simple ingredients
Coconut cream: This popsicle recipe is dairy-free but for an even creamier popsicle you can substitute the coconut cream for milk or vanilla yogurt. Personally, we like mixing milk with a heavier dairy product. Use a 1/2 cup of milk with 1 cup yogurt or whipping cream.
Fresh peaches: The key to picking the perfect peach is make sure the flesh is tender to the touch, soft, but not mushy.
Maple syrup: While we like using maple syrup, honey is an excellent alternative.
This recipe makes a pale pastel popsicle. For a stronger orange color, you can add a couple drops of food coloring. For a little added flavor, you can also try adding 1 tsp of vanilla.
