Frequenting home and decor stores with an almost two year old can be difficult. There are breakable things everywhere and E does not like to stay in the cart, which is a big part of the reason I do most of my home shopping online. However, about once a month we make a family trip to HomeGoods. Their inventory turns over quickly and once it’s gone it does not usually get restocked, so we visit frequently to keep tabs on their inventory. You can also download The Goods app on your phone or tablet to see whats’s new in your local store every day!
HomeGoods is full of discounted treasures that look a lot or are the same items that are popular in higher price stores.
It’s easy to get lost in HomeGoods’ inventory and end up impulse buying, so we write down the items we’re currently looking for and keep in the back of our head items we plan to buy from other stores.
Sometimes I get lucky and find one of those items for cheaper in store. We got lucky this week and found the industrial laundry hamper, shown above, for $129. Before finding this steal of a deal, I had been eyeing this laundry bin from Rejuvenation. They look almost identical, but the Rejuvenation‘s bin retails for $159.
My only complaint about the laundry hamper is that it doesn’t have a divider. It’s one big bin, so you can’t separate colors within it. Rejuvenation has a great option with dividers here, but given the high price, I’ll be settling and loving this one for now. As you can tell from the intro picture, even E is smitten with our new rolling laundry bin, although she may think it is her new wagon. She was asking to climb in it the second she saw me roll it through the store.
Now to the important part – where to shop this weekend:
Alice & Ames, who makes the adorable ballet dresses E is often seen wearing on Instagram, just released her fall line. It’s selling out fast so run, don’t walk, your fingers to her site. I already picked up this hot pink number and this blue dress.
Kate Spade is having a 75% off secret sale!!!!!! It was supposed to end last night, but is still up on their site. Visit here to gain access. See below for my top picks from the sale.
Lumens, a great place for designer lighting, is also having a secret sale for up to 10% off lighting until Sunday. They provide low-price guarantee and free shipping on most items, plus you see their products all over Pinterest. Click here to see the products on sale and use the code SECRET at check out to cash in. I’m especially loving that Hudson Valley Lighting‘s products are on sale. Their light fixture are to-die-for and I’m considering these for our basement.
If you’ve been following my story on Instagram, you probably noticed we are picking out paint colors for our basement. Quick decisions aren’t our strong suite. We are actually a little OCD about picking paint colors, so we will be spending at least part of our weekend with a lot of paint sample cans and a paint brush.
Enjoy your weekend and happy shopping!
